The deepest fear of line 1 in the 1/3 profile is the fear of the unknown and unawareness. Thereby they experience a deep inner pressure to research and investigate, to be able to penetrate something deeply enough, to find a solid foundation in life – be it in work-life or private relationships.

1/3 is a personal profile, which means that you are here to be the Research and Development department for the rest of us. You are here to go through your experiments, investigate, do deep research, and bring the findings to the profiles that can help externalize and influence others. You are here to take the work for the personal profiles and bring it out into the world. You are the “research and development” department within human design profiles.
The third defining feature of the 1/3 Projector is the deep sense of purpose. You are drawn to explore profound questions of existence and purpose, seeking a deeper understanding of life’s complexities. As a final note, remember that your Human Design Chart is a holistic system. Your Profile interacts with your Type, Centers, Channels, and Gates to create a unique design.
But, even as an expert in anything, do not rush to “impose” your knowledge on other people. Even those Projectors who are fortunate enough to find their calling, sometimes can not achieve something in their life. Literally “forcing” other people to evaluate their skills, such Projectors invariably face resistance. But the essence of the Researcher’s Line 1 is precisely to experience something on their own experience, to study it on their own before making a verdict.
And if the results of the “research” are unsuccessful, then be prepared to reject it. Do not dwell on what you have experienced, boldly go ahead and you will see that fate has prepared many more interesting things for you. The nature of the Martyr is such that this Line determines the desire of its owner for a new experience.
Recognizing the value they bring to their communities can help boost their self-esteem and sense of purpose. Also, 1/3 Reflectors can grow by learning to manage and protect their energy. This can involve consciously curating their environments, choosing relationships that are healthy and balanced, and learning to detach from energies that don’t serve them.
Reflectors with the 1/3 Profile, while rare, can provide a mirror to society. They’re unique in that their entire design is open and influenced by the environment, making their personal investigation and experiential learning process heavily impacted by the people and places around them. Lastly, remember that your investigative nature is not just about knowledge acquisition; it’s also about wisdom application. Apply what you’ve learned for personal growth and societal contribution.
They approach life with a sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn from both successes and failures. While they may encounter obstacles along the way, their resilience and determination ultimately propel them forward on their journey of discovery. The most important gift Human Design has to offer humanity is our decision-making strategy. Based on what type you are, will determine how you best make decisions. So if you’re a Projector, this means you have to wait to be recognized and invited for the big opportunities in life (e.g., home, career, love, and relationships).
